Two Fajr contenders granted special screening slots

Two Fajr Film Festival contenders have been granted special screening slots.

One of Tehran’s largest movie theaters, Kourosh Cineplex, dedicated a total of 10 special screening time-slots yesterday for the 37th annual Fajr Film Festival (FFF) contenders, ‘Midday Adventures: Trace of Blood’ and ‘The Warden’.

On one of the busiest days of the week, Kourosh Cineplex which drew the most amount of traffic in last year’s edition of the Fajr Film Festival dedicated seven additional time-slots to Nima Javidi’s ‘The Warden’ as well as three additional time-slots for Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian’s ‘Midday Adventures: Trace of Blood’.

In the latest audience polls, both films are among the candidate’s for the 37th annual event’s People’s Choice Awards.

Founded in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an annual event held on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, celebrating Iranian cinema.

Over the years, the event has played a key role in the development of the Iranian film industry.

This year’s festival, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, is currently underway with the closing ceremony scheduled for February 11, 2019.
